6 OCT 2022 HM Government Discount Energy Bills Support Scheme +£66.00
3 OCT 2022 Direct debit +£99.71
This month 163.76 has just been taken from my current account, will be interesting to see if the £66.00 is also credited or refunded back. My account is £530 in credit.
Maybe it would make more sense to switch to a variable DD, would much rather this money be in my account.
Your 3rd October DD was to pay for your September bill, before the prices rocketed in October. Prices have gone up massively for October so I would assume your direct debits would increase anyway. Depending on how they calculated your original DD amounts, it would be expected that you rack up a credit towards the autumn, and then that acts as a buffer into spring.
I too would prefer the money in my bank account, but knowing the EPG ends in April rather than in two years time and the £400 grant finishes then, with anticipated annual energy costs projected to be upwards of £4500 a year, or £400 odd a month, a big part of me says the bigger the buffer or credit you can build up, the better.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
The November Credit will appear sometime in the first week of November, that is all I can say. Lots of folks are flapping because it hasn't arrived TODAY.
£66 credited to my E.on account today, so even earlier than last month. Well done E.on Next
To be fair, I think the rollout in October was a bit short notice and chaotic on the part of the Government, such as it was, and the energy companies.
The zombie government were right in the middle of announcing the EPG when HM The Queen sadly shuffled off, which didn't help matters.
Another month down the line and I think things are bedded in a little better now. There has been a lot of moaning and chuntering going on about the whole matter, but fair play to EON.Next, it appears to be better this month. So far...!
