can someone from Eon please advise how I can sign up to the Demand Flexibility Scheme? Your website just sends me round in circles, I have changed my profile to 1/2 hourly readings Thank you

Today's National Grid DCF is all over the news channels. I'm set for 30min updates from the smart meter, I have marketing email and sms set to "on", but have heard nothing. Are the news outlets misleading in that they seem to imply everyone with a smart meter is eligible?

@Angie02
This opening post of this thread explains that as well as selecting half-hourly data you need to be opted-in to receive marketing emails. If you fulfil the criteria then you may (or may not) be invited to take part. As far as I know you can’t actually sign up to the scheme without first being invited to do so.Last edited by JoeSoap; 23-01-23 at 15:54. Reason: Added a bit
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
@PeterT_EONNext
What about all the people who's meters you are not fixing so they are not as smart as firstly presented? I have been waiting for over year and half for my meter to work and you still give me a feeble excuse of being behind on fixing the issue.
How can I join the scheme if you can't fix my "smart" meter? -
@Didi
Absolutely correct. If they stopped the installation of new smart meters to customers that don't really want them, and concentrated on fixing the existing dumb smart meters they'd have a happier customer base.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
Reply from Eonnext in response to a request to register for DFS or Demand Flexibility Service:
EONNEXT advised:-
Pertaining the Demand Flexibility Service, there is a link that that you will find on our website (NOT FOUND) as of right now though there is an issue with accessing the link once we have sent an email to you, if you could keep trying as I don't have the timeframe of when the issue will be resolved eventually you should be able to go through.
The aim is to be energy efficient from 4pm-7pm, and you will be rewarded for your efficiency during the peak hour.
I do see that you have adjusted your reading frequency to half hourly.
Reading between the lines:- appears unlikely to be resolved soon. -
Too early to determine whether DFS might work for EONNEXT customers.

Reading between the lines:- EonNext appears to be unable to provide a link to DFS on the EonNext website. This problem with DFS on EonNext appears unlikely to be resolved soon.Last edited by Sceptical; 23-01-23 at 16:29. Reason: Update
