I am done with eon next. They have tipped me over the edge.

@meldrewreborn Monthly billing is the norm, however if someone is on a receipt of bill tariff, and a variable DD, these payments will be taken when a bill is produced - usually after meter readings are taken. 😊

how does that help the customer budget, may I ask? Would you like it happening to you?Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
@meldrewreborn Of course not and it doesn't usually happen as there is a once a month schedule on accounts. I've spoken to @Karln via DM and sorted the problem for them. 😊

Great! -
Let me put something else into the mix.
I pay by DD and expect monthly billing to help with my budgeting. I’ve had to box a little clever, I adjusted my payment date to allow time for DD payment to update on my account. Allowing time for update I then provide meter reads which gets billed, this fits in around 1st of the month (original DD Date). I now know where I stand the rest of the month.
On that subject why does it take 4/5 working days to update payment yet immediately deducted from my bank account. Technology seems to be a one way street. When providing meter reads account is billed immediately. -
Possibly for the same reason when you pay for something with your Debit Card, the money has gone from your account before you even get the card back in to your wallet. The refund usually takes three three to five working days. In the meantime, the interest on your money is their money! -
@retrotecchie
How dumb am I?
I didn’t think on the reverse logic and it all being in their favour. Must have gone down another one way street. lol
Since there has been a little reminiscing going on, here’s one. Rolling Stones Classic…”I can’t get no satisfaction”. Still rings true today. -
A choice 'timeless classic' there, @johnscotty2 and every bit as relevant today as it was when I was in short trews.
Just this morning I was perusing my eclectic collection of old chestnuts and came across a little-remembered gem:
The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - No Matter Who You Vote For, The Government Always Gets In.

Ok, quick question, then @Beki_EONNext.
If I have a 'receipt of bill' tariff, variable DD and a bill is produced after a meter read is 'taken', does this apply if a meter reading is 'given'?
As in, if I upload my meter readings manually to the website ('cos I only have a dumb meter, innit?) say weekly or fortnightly, would that then generate a bill weekly or fortnightly and if so, how/when would the DD be pulled?
Only asking because the income situation is now 'as and when, here and there', rather than an actual monthly salary anymore.
And if I generate an irregular, or 'interim' bill and make a manual payment to cover it, will any DD still be taken if I've zeroed the account balance?
No rush for an answer, and more than happy to 'suck it and see' if necessary.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
@retrotecchie
I would expect a monthly billing cycle to produce one bill per month, using the latest proper reading plus some estimated consumption to the billing date. Let’s wait for the words translated from the stone tablets to compare.
