yet again ANOTHER electric mete reading taken on the 22nd October.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH MY ACCOUNT? -
Without wishing to sound rude or anything, does it actually matter a hill of beans if meter readings are taken when they are taken? As long as you are only billed for units used between two billing points, I really can't see what the crux of the problem is. I read my meter twice a day most days. Sometimes I miss a day or two here and there. I track my expenditure at 12 hourly intervals on a spreadsheet, interpolating any missing data as I need to. Eon.next get my meter readings when I upload them, which may or may not correspond to the days they would read my meter if I had a smart meter. The bills are calculated and their billing and my spreadsheets agree to the penny, every time.

"I read my meter twice a day most days. Sometimes I miss a day or two"
Missing a day without taking a meter reading is unforgivable. You should be ashamed of yourself. 🤗 -
Bad retrotecchie....bad retrotecchie....
(Goes off to find some birch twigs with which to flaggelate myself...)
Occasionally, I need to work away for a few days! Herself can't reach the meter as it's behind the oil boiler out in the garden and her wheelchair can't get close enough! I'm no spring chicken myself, so for how much longer I can manage....😂
And no, a smart-meter is NOT the solution as they don't work round here. The two people in the village that did have smart meters fitted are now left with dumb meters as they have just switched off all 3g services round here at the beginning of October! Funnily enough, some of our phones have stopped working too...Last edited by retrotecchie; 26-10-22 at 16:10.

Nothing very much as far as I can imagine. Are you telling us that these readings have any effect upon you financially. @Beki has explained to you why you might have additional readings but unless these are grossly inflating your billing, what is the problem?Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
For the last time.
This has been going on for months now.
My smart meters are supposed to be read once a month on the 22nd of each month then a bill is sent.
But for months now i have been getting multiple readings and multiple bills taken out of my bank account.
When you are on a low fixed income you have to watch very closely where your money is going and when.
Put yourself in my shoes when you have no idea each month how many bills you will get and how much and when the money is taken from your account.
If they take money and not enough in account i get bank charges and those charges add up each month thus eating into your very tight budget. -
Hey @retrotecchie
Sometimes meter readings being taken can issue a bill to the customer; if they were on a receipt of bill set up, then this would also request a payment each time and so you can understand the frustration if you were receiving bills this frequently. 😊
Luckily, this one was the scheduled one and both @Karln's meters are now polling reads on the correct day going forward. 😊 -
Gotcha!
Although personally, I'd prefer a few smaller bills to one whopping great big one, myself! 😁
Anyway, I hope @Karln's issues are all resolved now. -
@Beki_EONNext
what happened to monthly billing then?
