Hi @Karln have Customer service made no contact with you at all ? I wonder if this can be only a set up error of the Reading and Billing schedules of the meters.
I stand corrected, The removal of conditions 12.8 to 12.16 from 1st April 2016
Being out of the industry a few years now and not checked updates on this.
It bears the question that by having done this leaves it open to abuse and H&S issues.
Without scrutinising further I can only assume there would be triggers in place to spot/highlight them. I also think it will be to the detriment of an honest and loyal customer. ie: theft of supply, or moving home to a property with tampered meter.
This was commonly found in handovers to social housing and vice versa.
Agreed. It was predicated on the smart meter rollout being completed by 2020, and it's now 2025 (if you are a believer!) so logically there should be a reconsideration. But of course, the industry money men know better.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
A little birdy in the business has tweeted in my ear that the rollout has now been potentially extended again, to allow for lost time during Covid lockdowns.
Possibly 2032, by which time, the switch off of 3g will be fully completed, rendering 80% of current smart meters inoperable. At which point, they can turn round and say that the failure was not the electricity industries (OFGEM) fault after all, but pass the buck to OFCOM.
All 3g will be gone by 2032, but the switch off has already started. We lost ours (EE) on 1st October and the wife and I had to replace our mobile phones. At our expense, naturally.
