The scheme up until last year was very different, and administered very differently. Although E.On Next apply the discount, they cannot just 'do it'. The DWP have to confirm and verify elegibility, the VOA have to provide information on whether you have a 'high heating cost home', both sets of information need to be correlated and then each qualifying recipient has to be matched to an energy account with a particular supplier. Being disabled or 'on the priority list' as I am has absolutely zero bearing on the matter. Disabled People do NOT automatically qualify as in previous years. Only if you are in receipt of UC, below a certain earnings threshold, get housing benefit or qualify on low income. Disability benefits such as DLA or PIP do NOT count for the scheme this year.
If you only qualify on the grounds of disability, you will get a completely unrelated £150 payment in April.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
You 'may' qualify if your UC us below a certain threshold. Your PIP is not a qualifying benefit.
If you do qualify on the grounds of UC, then you would still need to have a 'high heating cost home'. That is determined by a different wing of the government, the VOA.
Considerations would be whether you were on or off the gas grid, age and type of property, etc., how big your floor area is, type and method of construction, etc.
UC gets you the payment. It will come eventually but you will have to be patient, chasing it now will not help.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
You will only get it at all if you tick both boxes...benefit qualification AND 'high heating cost home'. If you do get it, it will be on or before 31/3/2023.
