Over the last 2wks I have tried to get in touch with EON using Messenger, email, whatsapp & phone call regarding a refund I am owed but no one is returning any of my messages.

@FPX Did they answer the phone? And did you get a refund (if that was what you asked for)?

@GSimpson I’ve sent 2 emails to their CEO (Michael Lewis) about my Fit Payments, which are outstanding. Wasn’t expecting him to reply personally, but speaks volumes about their customer service that not even his office can be bothered to respond.

They answer the phone after about half an hour hanging on - I never rang about a refund, but I should get one as my account is in credit by about £190 now and they haven't taken this month's DD yet.

It took me a few weeks to get my refund, they’re very slow in responding and when they do they make you feel like you’re robbing them of their money.
I got a full refund (£745) at the end of June so my account was at £0, now sitting £380 in credit again after October’s updates so about to start the fight all over again.
it would be much simpler to let me reduce the direct debit to a realistic amount but they know best!!! -
@Graeme
provided their readings are up to date customers are legally entitled to claw back most, if not all of their account balance.
However, if a DD is commenced in the summer when bills are mercifully lower, then it is inevitable that a credit balance will build up, one which will rapidly disappear in the winter months. So, if you claw back your balance now, you'll enter anther DD period starting from zero, perhaps the same annual forecast but against a price background 25-27% higher than before (assuming you're on the flex tariff) and no offsetting credit balance. It will then be the case that the monthly amount they want you to pay will be substantially higher.
Having said that, the best time to start a DD is probably in November, so that the high winter bills put your account into debit for much of the next 12 months.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. @meldrewreborn you are exactly right. I’ve just done a calculation based on my usage for the last three years, each year being remarkably close in consumption even with lockdown. My monthly calculation is still £100 less a month than Eon have calculated it out to be and we’re using the same data.

@GSimpson They've not answered any of them

@meldrewreborn figures are from Oct to Oct so they include all the highest months.
