Does anyone know which conditions have to be met for EON to offer a tariff that has a zero standing charge?
A few weeks ago my account was showing 3 renewal quotes:
1)Next Flex variable (direct debit)
2)Next Flex variable (pay on receipt)
3)Next Flex with no standing charge
EON has now removed 3) but I am interested if anyone else has had that or still has it.
under thee price caps set by OFGEM, the are maximum charges for zero units and another for an average or benchmark consumption. Suppliers can set a very low , even zero, standing charge and then charge more for units consumed and still comply with the caps. However, I’m not aware that any offer it at the moment, probably because overall they would lose money on such a tariff.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
