Smart Meter Readings

    I would like to know if the usage charges displayed on the Eon smart meter include the new government support package. I was expecting to see a drop in the charge from October 1st in line with my new reduced monthly direct debit as advised by Eon. Instead the display charges have risen. These comparisons have been made with identical daily consumption.

    Check what tariff rates are showing in your online account. They should currently be in the region of 34p for elect and 10.3p for gas on most non-E7/E10 tariffs. Compare that with those shown on your smart meter IHD and if they are incorrect then you will have to contact customer service to request an update.
    I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

    Thanks for the reply. My smart meter does not show tariffs, just dotted lines so I can't compare. I'll try to get through to customer support.

    Good luck with that. You will need to be patient though. Expect to wait hours on-hold if phoning or several days for a reply if you contact them by other means. They are snowed-under.

    Okay, thanks for that really helpfull information as I had already emailed them yesterday with the question. I'll can now hang up and hang tight.
