Smart Meter - Excessively High Usage

Update - it's now been over 48 hours since the check meter was installed - take a look at the trend line:
The check meter is still going up at the exact same rate as the original meter... -

But not at 48kWh per day. So the original meter now seems to be giving more believable readings.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
Indeed - my fear is they'll come to review the check meter and see no discrepancy - remove the check meter and the original meter reverts back to the same issue as before... Alternatively they could claim that the meter itself is not at fault - albeit it was giving incorrect readings prior to the check meter installation...Last edited by RedBeard89; 18-11-22 at 11:59.

True, but you'll have serious ammunition by then, hopefully. A huge dip in consumption while the check meter was in place, then shooting back up afterwards when it is removed. Unless the fiddling did fix the old meter, in which case we'll need to do some serious arguing of your case. -
Latest data graph - with added comparison of check meter readings since it was installed on 15th November:

You couldn't get the first half of your blue line straighter if you used an engineer's steel rule.
I haven't had a chance to play with your figures yet, but try plotting the readings with just the checkmeter and the original meter. Offset the y axis by the initial meter readings so you are only displaying units used, rather than absolute readings. Expand the graph and see how irregular the new lines are, demonstrating the variance in meter readings across the hours/days as opposed to the originaL constant straight line. -

Sure is, but the big question is if they remove the check meter, saying it's tracking fine, and the old one goes back to playing silly beggars again....
The ratio of the slopes of the graphs will indicate the ratio of what you have been billed for to what you should have been billed for.Last edited by retrotecchie; 22-11-22 at 16:18.
