Tariffs now updated but much higher than they should be

My tariffs have eventually updated online. I have been switched onto the V19 tariff from the 1st October and was expected it to reduce somewhere very near the EPG 34p per unit for electricity. However this is what has been listed. Looks like I should now switch straight to the variable tariff??

Can you tell us your region and what the rates were when you signed up, please? If those are the rates after the EPG reductions, we've been told that they will then be further reduced down to EPG variable rate levels. The company doesn't want customer services to be overwhelmed with people wanting to change to the variable tariff, but their communication has been poor - they keep shooting themselves in the foot.

North East region. The unit rate until today said 59.15 p/kWh. If it is not going to reduce down to the 34p rate then I will have to switch to variable as there would be no point staying on the fixed rate,

I have just had a reply to an email I sent, complaining about the tariff stating that it will (eventually) go down to the government guidelines EPG:

"I apologise for the confusion! We have had some delays in writing to customers on fixed tariffs to let them know that actual amount that you will be paying. There have been so many changes recently that we have not been able to keep up. This is not your fault.
The fixed deals that customers changed to WILL be brought into line with the Government Guidelines and you should receive a letter/email this week.
    Hope this helps

Has anyone received this supposed email with the correct rates? I've still had no communication, other than the rates I can see in my account, which according to this thread are wrong?

I've made a number of queries by email in the last few weeks but none have been acknowledged.

No, I have never received communication in any form as to what my correct rates are. All I have are promises that we will not be overcharged, despite the rates on our account saying otherwise.

Well, that's useful to see what they should be charging me. They should get an automatic meter reading sent on the 22nd/23rd, so will wait and see what they are actually charging me.

    My account currently says:
    42.62 p/kWh 51.63 p/day elec
    10.80 p/kWh 27.22 p/day gas
    (inclusive of VAT)

Though those aren't the rates I signed up to. They have been discounted from what I agreed when I fixed at the end of August. But they are still substantially worse than the price I'd be paying on a variable tariff under the EPG.

So I'm still very unclear on whether EON plan to discount these rates further, or whether I should be trying to switch to a variable tariff.
