Hoping you can help with an issue that I am having with my gas meter.
I believe the previous owner of my house (stupidly) took the IHD. I have been using the Loop app but unfortunately, it only seems able to read my electricity meter.
Now, my bills seem okay and automatic readings are taken and accurate. However, I would like to be able to monitor my gas usage this winter.
I have attached two pictures showing my meters. As you can see, the HAN is flashing red.
I have also checked on the Citizens Advice energy page and this shows 'Your gas meter isn’t working in smart mode'.
Do you think this can be rectified and if so is it a case of the meters being updated/upgraded?
Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I'm afraid nothing can be done at this time until your gas meter migrates itself. There's no way to speed that up. :(

The DCC website and annual report says that the SMETS1 migration programme is due for completion by the end of 2022. Meters that are incapable of migration will probably have to be replaced. Energy suppliers are not very willing to replace a meter now that may be capable of being enrolled by DCC.
The overall target for every home to have been offered a smart meter is now end 2025. But offered doesn't mean installed.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
