    Hi @Wellsy

There's a lot of accounts showing high rates, including mine. I'm guessing it's the process they're going through to update everyone's account so I'd suggest waiting a few days.

<br>I am getting so tired of dealing with eon making a mess of things every single time my tarif changes.

When i was moved from eon to eon next (not my choice was just done) they messed things up severly and didnt even put the gas on so i only had electricity, had to phone to get it sorted
then my corrrect tarif info was not sent ot meter had to phone to fix that
Then at the end of the tarif when i fixed again my smart meter did not get updated with the new info i had to phone to get it sorted.
Then the meter readings were not being collected right, i had to phone TWICE to get that fixed.
THen when i ended the tarf during the coool off peroid due to the october freeze yet again my meter did not get updated with the new tarif info and again i had to phone to get it sorte.

THen this with the october cap where they have messed up everything.

Firstly my meter is still on the old rate before the october rise, no suprise there so i'll have to phone to srot it snce they are only open on phones when i am at work will have to wait till wednres day to sort this and everythign else that is wrong, how am i meant to budget my energy usage when i dont even have the right info on my smart meter.

So lets get onto the mess of this rise.

RATES BERFORE THE CAP RISE ON NEXT FLEX
    Gas unit rate: 6.933 kwh
Gas Daily Charge: 25.923 per day

    Electric Unit Rate: 26.055 kwh
    Electric Daily Charge: 46.216

    NEW RATE AFTER OCTOBER RISE
    Gas unit rate: 14.67 kwh
Gas Daily Charge: 28.48 per day

    Electric Unit Rate: 50.88 kwh
    Electric Daily Charge: 49.55

GOVERMENT CAP PULLED DIRECT OFF OFGEM WEBSITE
    Gas unit rate: 0.10 kwh
    Gas Daily Charge: 0.28
    Electric Unit Rate: 0.34 kwh
    Electric Daily Charge: 0.46

INFO EMAILED BY EON ON WHAT MY PRICES ON THE NEW CAP WILL BE
    Gas unit rate: 10.244 kwh
    Gas Daily Charge: 28.484
    Electric Unit Rate: 33.029 kwh
    Electric Daily Charge: 49.545

SO LETS BREAK DOWN WHAT IS WRONG HERE
Looking at these figures both my gas and electric unit rate charges are roughly double what they were before the october rise which is funny given it is a 27% rise so how exctly does a 27% rise justify nearly double unit rates over what the variable tariff was before the rise.

My gas unit rate is just over 40% above the goverment cap
My gas daily charge is 2.077p above the goverment cap
My electric unit rate is close to 50% above the goverment cap
my electric daily charge is 3.55p above the goverment cap

Heres where it gets interesting lets take my kwh before the cap and multiply them by the rise
    Gas unit rate 6.933 * 1.27 = 8.80491
    electric unit rate 26.055 * 1.27 = 33.08985
So when i work out the unit rates manually on a calculator at home after my shift at work using the percentage of the rise i get figures close to the cap the goverment announced.

Why is it i can work this out and write out this post in half an hour after my shift at work, showing mathmatically proven facts backing up that they have clearly set me on a way overcharged rate that is completly against the guarentees set out by the goverment and the prices i was emailed by eon (the emailed prices are in line with the goverment except the slightly higher daily electric charge), yet a large company like eon that knew this was coming could not ajust a single tarif that alot of there customers are on so that it is set for the price rise. I will be phoning on wednesday and this will ALL be sorted out on the phone or i am moving supplier. I am beyond done dealing with having to waste my time because this company cannot get anything right. After this is fixed the next time something like this happens i am gone, no phone ccall no trying to get it fixed i will just leave.

Would someone from eon please post here and explain how this could be allowed to happen.

Don't get too bogged down in rates and percentages - the rates are wrong period. You know yourself what the capped rates should be and will be once Eon Next have updated all the accounts with the EPG rates (mine are not BTW). If you are billed at the wrong rates that is a totally different matter, then fine complain direct to Eon Next.

I doubt whether anyone from Eon Next is going to take the time to get bogged down in threads like these other than to re-state the obvious

What you have said is exactly the point i am making, like you said once eon have updated all the accounts, well they have updated mine because it has been changed from what it was before the rise and changed massivly incorrectly so they have made the change and done it wrong just like they get things wrong every single time my tarif changes.

Ontop of that my meter has not been updated so i cannot budget my energy use and see how the new costs affect me in real time. So these mistakes do affect me because i cannot budget my energy usage so cannot see how much i am spending.

The reason my post comes across as angry is because quite frankly i am, not just at this but at the fact that they keep messing things up on my account over and over again, and every single time i have to spend ages on hold and more time speaking to the representative to get it sorted.

This isn't an isolated incident it is just the latest in a long list of things messed up by eon next in less than two years. After so many things messed up, so many mistakes by eon and so many hours i have had to waste on hold and speaking to them to clean up messes they made i am beyond sick of it.

They updated my accounts tarif info so why not update it to the rate set by the goverment instead of to a much higher incorrect figure. Is it that freaking hard to set it to the rates set and enforced by the goverment, rates that they knew were coming long before it happened. They had plenty of time to sort this, and suprise they made a mess of it as usual

As for if you are billed at a differant rate that is a differant matter then complain. Sorry but i strongly disagree it is their responsibility to provide accurate and correct updates to variable tarifs rates and accurate and correct billing, incorrect provided tarif info in your account page is not ok even if you get charged the correct rate. It isn't the first time my tarif info hasn't be displayed correctly either, when i was moved here they didn't even put half my tarif on it.

Which rate is it exactly, i have three right now the goverment one, the emailed one and the one on my account page?
Which one am i paying for?
how much is it costing me?
how do i budget so i can afford my bills when i dont even have the info?
i cant answer any of these questions because my smart meters tarif info is wrong my account tarif info is wrong, and i have been given two differant tarif ammounts by eon

The rates shown in your email are the correct ones whilst those shown in your online account have not yet been updated. Be patient and they will update.

The above information was posted on the online accounts a couple of days ago.

You will be billed as per your email rates in spite of what your online account currently shows.

I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Looks like rates are starting to be updated. Mine are now correct and match the SVT/EPG cap rates for my region.
