surely these energy companies need to get their act together, they’ve had plenty of time for goodness sake.
Rates increased without notification

Just looked at Octopus Energy - their standard rate is showing the same as Eon BUT right at the top of their page it states the rates shown, at present, do not represent the price cap.

Yep, looks like they've done it to everyone, I started a thread about this as I was up all night worrying about it, I've sent a messenger message but I doubt they will reply to it, they could've at least put a statement out, my brother is with a different energy company and his rates are the EPG rates so if they could sort it before October 1st why couldn't EON next? If its not sorted this weekend I think there phone lines are going to be extremely busy Monday morning.

On the other hand - my daughter is with British Gas and their tariff rates reflect the price cap.
What on earth are we actually being charged by Eon then as I doubt they’ll refund any over charging. -
I wonder how much energy companies invest in computer systems to run and support their businesses - it should all have been so much smoother and simpler. I am sure our customer accounts are not screened by one individual at HQ - surely a change in Kw rate (even if geographically variable) isn't that tricky to implement - after all there is really only one tariff left (Next Flex). Most organisations including, Banks, Government, insurers, pension providers, educational establishments, supermarkets (to name a few) change rates without fuss. None of the changes were unexpected.
