@AlanStorey
These figures are based on the original 80% increase in the price cap and have been superseded by the new EPG. Online accounts are taking time to update but the correct figures will be around 34p for electric and 10.4p for gas.
You will also get a reduction of £66/67 per month for 6 months courtesy of the government.
Your account will be updated to reflect the changes from today but some patience will be needed as it will take time.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
@AlanStorey yes, I was surprised it was double.

@AlanStorey mine is showing exactly the same!! I was shocked! No wonder my direct debits were calculated so highly! About £1k more a year than I was supposed to be paying 😳

So if the rates are going to be reduced down in line with the cap, until they do that, we won't be charged that rate will we for any units used until it is updated?

@samm
That’s the big question. There is an Energy Price Guarantee as of today that will limit standard variable rate charges to around 34p/kWh for electricity and 10.2p/kWh for gas. Those currently on fixed rates will get a reduction on their rates of up to something like 17p for gas and 4p for electric (the actual rates escape me right now) but only down to the floor of the EPG.
With Eon Next it is believed that all fixed rates will be reduced to the EPG but nobody really knows for sure. If your current fix is below the EPG then you can stay on it until it ends before reverting to the EPG.
According to info on my account, if you have received an email or letter detailing your new DD then this will be correct whilst information on your account may take time to update.
If you pay by DD then the new amounts should show on your account.
It’s been hugely confusing for all of us and still is. My account is still showing my old rates and DD (less the £67 assistance) but I have just been sitting tight as advised by Eon Next.
The new rates are effective from today and I believe that our DDs will be adjusted on time for our October payments but I don’t think anyone dare guarantee that 100%.
I’m typing this with big fingers and small phone so haven’t flitted around to refresh myself on actual figures but they’re in the ball park and hopefully my post makes sense.
There are many threads on this subject on the forum to refer-to where you can get lots of, hopefully reassuring, information. -
@sc489
It will take time to update things online. Please see the following link for details of how the EPG will be applied by Eon Next.

Am I just being thick but the energy suppliers have known the new rates for 2 weeks now, surely everyone's accounts should show the new rates and not the old rates, if everyone on the Nextflex will pay the same it should have been a very simple and quick fix to display these figures straight away.
