Today my online account has shown an increase in price per kwh for electric to 53.83p from 1st oct. I was expecting an increase to 35p per kwh as per the energy price guarantee but the increase is the old price cap amount planned by ofgem before the energy price guarantee was announced.

Yes I expect to see this changing again once we get to October 1st and the EPG actually kicks in. Sloppy programming to change the rates to the old cap rates rather than the EPG rates. Hopefully this will change over the weekend otherwise the phones will be busy on Monday ....

Well mine now is 62.31p day 32.59p night! And I hardly use any at night. I'm off to find working tariff comparison sites.
Apparently EON have updated their prices to the original price cap. A fix is supposed to be in place& but you only pay the 34p & 10p price if you pay by direct debit. For non-direct debit customers they will have to pay 36.8 & 11.1 so the price cap is not being implemented. Why should we have to pay more because we want to control our payments & is this legal?

Reason: Addional letters added by system
You can still control your payments and attract the DD discount by asking to pay by variable DD instead of fixed DD so that your monthly DD will match your bill. See here… https://assets.ctfassets.net/gmgnres...ctDebit-v4.pdf

@Lynneg
yes it is legal . It is your choice. If you choose to add to supplier costs by not using the most efficient and effective payment method, why should those that do subsidise you?
