I'm on Eon Next v14 fixed tariff. The electricity rate per kWh is higher than the new Government cap rate from Oct 1 but the gas price and the standing charges are lower.
I have heard nothing from Eon and they are not responding on Twitter.
I believe (from Government and Moneysavingexpert sources) that my electricity rate should reduce to the new cap rate of 34p per kWh (small regional variations) from Oct 1, keeping my lower gas and standing charges.
Can anyone confirm this?
Has anyone had information on this from Eon?
Full information is slow to appear and customer service seem to be almost uncontactable due to being overwhelmed. I would imagine that what you believe is correct but I honestly don't think we'll find out for sure until after the fact.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
I am also moving to v14 from 2nd October and like you are hoping that the electricity unit rate will reduce to around 34p/kWh. Unfortunealy Eon are not exactly confirming this at this stage. Just have to wait and see
This should help you, it says that you do not need to do anything and that the rates will be adjusted accordingly. If you still have any concerns then please post back.

UPDATEToday, my electricity unit rate (Next Online v14 1yr fix) reduced from 39.59p to 35.06p, as shown on the Eon Next app.
Although welcome, this is odd because the new "£2500 cap rate" for my region (Eastern) is 34.09p, according to Moneysavingexpert
Update 2
Moneysavingexpert have now updated the rates for the new "£2500 cap", and for Eastern Region it is 35.06p per kWh for electricity, so my Eon rate is correct
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

I'm in the exact same position. I've DMed them on Twitter. My smart meter says the new electricity rate is 34p kWh, even though I'm on E7 dual rate, I hope the online tariff details, and billing, will be ammended in due course as they're overwhelmed.
I have had the Oct Energy Bill Support Scheme payment, as an aside.

I'm in the same position. My Smart Meter has updated to the 34p kWh rate as a matter of interest.
