@dwr2011 Don't panic! Those are what the rates would have been before the cap announced on the 8 Sep. I'm on E7 Next Flex and mine are similar. Check at midnight tonight
@dwr2011
I was freaking out too , I got the same info on my next flex too ..ive scanned the Internet trying to find out what was going on.And found this forum..thankgoodness.
I hope it's true that it will change.As I have not any correspondence from eon about price adjustments, but I didnt last time either.
I have just recieved a email with the new adjusted tariff in line with the cap
it is for my area the north west
42.64 day
14.21 night
43.35 standing charge
Hope this puts your mind at rest if you haven't yet recieved any communication from EON.I got a seperate email too saying they have been working very hard to adjust prices.

Can I ask what the prices on your on you old tariff were, to give me an idea how the split between night and day rates has changed?
I'm in a different area and E7 is only a very marginal saving at the old prices, which may well have changed now, so I might need to switch to single rate or another supplier quite sharpish if I can.
If my rates change by a similar percentage, I'll be about £300 per year worse off on E7 than single rate for my electricity usage, plus or minus the difference in standing charge.
Our IHD is now showing day rate 45.85 (was 32.55) and 13.87 (was 17.18), East Midlands.
Very surprised that the night rate should go down. I also don't understand how EDF East Midlands night rate can be so low at 6.9, although the day rate is a little higher at 47.31.

Night rate has fallen here to. Assuming the non-E7 single tariff rate is around 35p, it looks like somewhere around 30% of my electricity usage would have to be at night, or Economy 7 will be more expensive than the standard rate. It was similar percentage with the only supplier I found that's taking new accounts in my area; about 33% night time consumption.
I only use about 15% of my electricity usage at night, so looks like I need move off Economy 7 ASAP. Hopefully either Eon or the other supplier won't insist on a meter change, since mine isn't "smart" and I need to avoid a power cut.
