On Eon Next's EPG EPG Page page we see the following
For the small number of customers who fixed at a high rate exceeding the October Ofgem price cap of £3,549 (£3,674 paying on receipt of bill), they will receive the full discount of 16.998p for electricity and 4.2p for gas. To make sure that those customers also benefit from the EPG we will bring their fixed price down to be in line with the government's £2,500 average threshold.
Is the consensus that Eon Next may reduce some tariffs by more than what they state in the same document just above?
Unit price reductions of up to 17p/kWh for electricity and 4.2p/kWh for gas will apply to fixed tariff customers to bring their unit prices down to, but not below, the floor unit price.
Rang up Eon Next today to find out if my v18 electricity fix would reduce from 51.86p/kWh all the way down to 32.24p/kWh (the cap for my region Oct 1st) OR whether it would only go down to 34.86p/kWh (51.86p-17p)? Seemingly neither of the people I spoke to today have been given this information to give full advice to customers as their briefings appear incomplete/open to interpretation.
There seems to be do much confusion with Eons own staff.
I have been asking them if my fixed electricity rate on v14 will reduce to around the 34 pence mark and all they can answer is :
"A payment review has been done on the account in order to pay for your usage as well as covering the price cap increase starting in October.
On the 1st October amended and new tariffs will be available."
Not the answer to what I want
@Mailman My understanding is all fixed rates above the EPG will come down to in effect be the same.
I am due to move to v19 on 1st October and have asked about changing this to SVR via email, the response was:
" we will amend the unit price to fall in line with the new prices so you do not need to switch from fixed prices to standard variable tariff as we will amend effectively."
The way I read it, those of us on fixes will all come down to the new EPG. If we're already below the EPG we will continue to enjoy the lower rates until our tariff ends and then move to the EPG.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

I do hope you are correct. It appears now that all communication with E.on customer service has come to a standstill. I left a message on WhatsApp yesterday morning with no response and having tried to ring this morning, the line just goes dead with no explanation. I know they must be busy but the contact with them needs improving.
just to say I've had absolutely zero contact from eon (fixed rate electricity from may 2022) or EDf (fixed rate gas from july 2022). I did though use web chat recently to lower my DD for the gas.
Their lack of contact doesn't surprise me, but then neither am I concerned. Some of us Chronologically Gifted people can be amazingly relaxed, perhaps because we've lived through panic periods like this before and lived to tell the tale.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
