make sure your readings are fully up to date and then contact customer services. It is though completely normal to have credit now and usually these decrease in the winter months. Don’t be surprised if you DD need to increase if your credit is reduced.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Thanks - as per my other thread we intend to remove the DD and pay monthly therefore that issue would disappear. However contacting customer services might be a bigger issue!!

Your prices will rise by 7% if you don't pay by DD. I noticed my new annual projected costs totally ignored my credit balance of £200 - the only reason for wanting a credit balance is if you plan to use more gas/elec than they assess you on. If you ask for the credit back, they come out with some b/s that it's to protect you from falling into arrears - but that's what the DD amount itself is supposed to do! One agent told me it was a nice little buffer - maybe, but for them not me :)
I was with Npower before EoN and they took your balance into account when setting the DD for next period.

Reason: errors
The best tactic is to ask for any excess credit back (it's an absolute right - they can't refuse) and then start on a new DD calculation just as winter starts. Your account will then be in debit through the winter months only getting back into balance at the start of next winter.
