For the past hour 08085015200 (Customer Service) has been unobtainable. No reason for this has been provided on Eon .Next's website and this appears to have been disconnected. From my personal experience of this "company" I am not surprised. As soon as the dust settles with the new tarriffs I will be switching supplier as I have had enough. (My reasons are on Trustpilot under the title "Beggars belief" which will be available by lunchtime (after their standard vetting procedure).
It's not good but you can probably imagine how busy they are at present with almost everyone's tariff changing in a few days and all the confusion over DD increases. There are other methods of contact here where you can leave details and they will get back to you.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@Beggarsbelief I am glad im not the only one. Ive cancelled my DD till they make contact and will be contacting the citizens advice etc. What are they going to do wehn people just cancel then
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
What i cant understand is that they need to give a correct bill as it only me in the house and not hear two weekends in a month. I need to talk to them to discuss what i actually use as its a estimate they give me which im pretty sure is not right
You need facts and figures - feelings don't cut the mustard I'm afraid. The suppliers don't get it right all the time, but often customers are not fully in touch with how much energy they consume and just how much prices have gone up - this winter will be about twice the price of last winter.
Check the estimate against your actual meter reading. Submit a reading and your account will be updated. If you don't have a smart meter then it would be best to submit meter readings every month.
Its easy to go back over your bills and get a reading from 12 months ago. Then look at a reading now - only use the main figures not any after the decimal point or in a different colour. Take one from the other.
For electricity the difference between the two readings is your consumption in kWh.
For gas its more complicated because your meter measures in VOLUME rather than kWh. You still use the difference between the two readings, but you multiply the difference by 11 if your meter measures in cubic metres, or 32 if it measures in 000's of cubic feet. (this gives a close approximation of your volume consumption converted to kWh). Then you can use the price data from above posts to work out your likely (but not guaranteed) cost for the year to come. While the prices are now fixed for 2 years your consumption may go up or down - you still have to pay for what you use.
Then add in your account balance. Divide the whole lot by 12 and you have a logically estimated Direct Debit amount. If you want to challenge your supplier, you now have facts and figures to support your argument.
