Monthly payment
-
Hi, I’ve had my account updated this morning with what I will be paying from 1st October .. it’s £141.05 and then they have taken the £67 off making new dd £74.05 … as they say this starts from October 1st does that mean it will not go up again? The tariff units are still saying the April prices but they have updated my DD which is higher now since I have come off my fixed this month and now on next flex… I keep getting different answers from friends saying it will go up again ?
thank you for any replies -

@puppy
You will get this reduction for six months after which you will revert to your original DD.
During these six months (Oct-Mar) the government will pay the equivalent of your reduction to Eon Next so that your account will stay up to date.I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -

Further to my previous reply, the rates shown in your online account may not be updated to October rates yet although you may have received an email or letter recently telling you what they will actually be. -
Hi, thank you, yes I’ve just had the October rates sent .. so, I.m confused now .. they have already this morning said what my payments will be from October 1st, which I think must be Aprils rates, so even though they have given me my October dd price will this go up again?

@puppy
The rates from 1st October for the next two years should be in the region of 34p/kWh and 46p/day for electric and 10.3p/kWh and 28p/day for gas.
Hopefully you can use these figures against your estimated usage over the next year to see if your new DD is in the ball park. -
I have worked this out, well my Sister did and she reckons it will now be over £200 a month and down to 152 with the help, also she thinks they have well over estimated the amount of gas I will use in the coming year so has increased my price

@puppy
Now you have your own idea of what you think you should be paying you could wait until next month to see what they actually take. If you disagree with their estimate you can then phone them to negotiate using your calculations. -

I've been monitoring my gas consumption for more years than i care to admit. My consumption can vary between 14,000 kWh and 18,000 kWh per annum and the variation is mainly down to the severity of the winter. By my figures last winter was of average severity, and so the last 12 months consumption would provide a reasonable basis for working out a Direct debit amount. However, if a new more efficient boiler has been installed you could expect consumption to drop.
Any DD amount, because it based on a forward estimate on consumption, will after 12 months turn out to be wrong, because the forecast is never going to be exactly right. Customers will either be in credit or debit on their account, and that would affect future direct debit amounts. Your bills though are always based on consumption times prices and the latter will now stabilise. Reducing consumption will be the only way to reduce bill and thus future Direct debits.Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio.
