@LauraC
This isn't good news but I guess you will get a reply eventually. Is there anything that maybe someone on here can answer?I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
Thank you for replying but no, I need help with the increase to my direct debit amount as I can't afford it. I've already sent them an income and expenditure to show this as well 😢 -
@LauraC
In your online account you are able to reduce your direct debit by 10%. This may help in the short term. -
I can only afford £90 a month which they are aware of, they are trying to increase it to £220. There's no way I can afford it, not even with the help the government are giving.

@LauraC
I'm so sorry to hear that. It's possible that the DD increase is taking into account the original 80% increase in the price cap. This has now been superseded by the government Energy Price Guarantee so hopefully the increase won't be as much as you fear.
I know people have had success with the WhatsApp route but it can take time to get a response. I hope you get a response soon. -
@LauraC
For the next 6 months the government will be rebating us by £400 (366/£67 per month). Which will help towards your energy bills. Have you factored that in, or not?
At the end of the day, we have to pay for what we consume, and now that prices will be effectively fixed for 24 months there will be stability in prices, albeit at a very high level. The only way then to reduce bills is to cut consumption - use less energy. Thinking through things now before the peak winter months arrive could be hugely beneficial.
Make sure you are getting all the help your can - unfortunately sometimes there are too many schemes with limited applicability that it needs a benefit expert to help you achieve that.

@LauraC I have exactly the same problem, this is unacceptable that these companies get away with simply ignoring their customers!!!
