@MCeeJay
I will still be interested as to how Eon put the unit rates into practice. I have fixed at over EPG for electricity but under for gas. The service charge on my fixed tariff are also both less than EPG.
I suspect that they, along with other suppliers, are waiting for the final details to be ironed out with the Government. I'm sure that as soon as the rates are confirmed they'll be communicated as soon as possible @Johnh1995.
If the new adjusted fixed rates are going to be less than the EPG (variable) rate) then you can safely stay put. but if you fixed recently you might want to cancel /exit.

@meldrewreborn
I am aware of these discounted unit rates that have been publicised by the Government , but I really need to read the actual rates that Eon will be charging on the fixed rate tariff that I signed up for and it should not be too difficult for Eon to advise the unit rates for each tariff
Surely you can do the sums yourself - i can't see why not, although there is still a degree of confusion at the edges.
I will do the calculations when Eon get around to advise me the unit rates I will.be paying on their Online Direct Debit v14. Until then it is pure speculation as the Government edict on discounts is woolly to say the least.
Confusion reigns. I've just read an email from MSE. He's now saying his reading of the government rules is that those on fixes will only get reductions to the level of the variable EPG and no further. see here:
This is in stark contrast to the Government's earlier energy bills factsheet number 8. in effect it means that unless you've a cheap fix from long ago you'l be paying the new EPG rates going forward. But energy suppliers can't issue any new rates yet because the rules from government have not been finalised. What a mess!
