I am also having this same issue since changing tariff. Really annoying as I cant keep track of what I'm spending. Makes the whole point of having a smart metre useless.

Concentrate on limiting you usage rather than the total cost until the problem is resolved. I don’t have a smart meter at all but I know I have to pay standing charges and cannot reduce them. my consumption is completely under my control and when my prices change it makes no difference, I just continue to monitor consumption.
