We had our first smart meter installed on Friday, and they gave us a Trio accessible meter as my partner is blind. It worked fine throughout Friday afternoon and evening but by Saturday morning it said it can no longer communicate with the meter and we've tried resetting it whilst right next to the meter and that hasn't fixed it. I can't tell if this means we'll have to send manual readings now (which will be a problem as I have an extended hospital stay coming up and of course my partner can't do manual readings), or merely that we can't view our usage on the screen. Can anyone suggest any fixes we could try, or know if the readings will still be being sent?

I'd insist the installer comes back to fix the issue.

Well, yes, I'm trying that of course but getting through to them even on their so-called "quickest option" of social media is saying it may take a couple of days before they get back to you so thought I'd try here too in case anyone had any ideas

It seems to have come back on on its own today without us doing anything at all (and before anyone from the company responded to any of my messages)

I had an issue last year where I sent an email to cancel an engineer visit but received no reply. When I subsequently phoned to get the visit cancelled I was informed that it had already been cancelled as a result of my email.

I only say this so you know that it is possible that something was done as a result of you contacting them but they just didn’t tell you.

It’s also possible of course that it was just a glitch and it fixed itself. Either way let’s hope you have no more problems.
