Does anyone know where I can find written clarification please, in relation to replacing solar panels under the fit scheme? I did speak to someone a long time ago who said it’s possible if it’s a like for like swap but were very vague on what I could do. I’ve seen a post on here asking a similar question but it doesn’t explain where we can get written clarification. I currently have 2.75kw (11x250w) and would like to replace it with 2.73kw (7x390w) so it keeps the panels kw’s lower than the 2.75kw but obviously, the newer panels will be more efficient. If that is possible, do you have to have an MCS certified installer to replace them? If I add AC-Coupled battery storage, do I have to inform anyone or get permission? Thank you to anyone that can point me in the right direction. I do plan to phone the helpline to see what they say but as it’s a costly mistake if you break the terms of fit, I was hoping to find something written that clarifies 100% what’s allowed.
Just click on his name highlighted in red in his post and that will allow you to send a DM 👍
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@bakershaker really interested to know if you got to the bottom of this - am in a similar situation. This link https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/sites/defau...n_13122021.pdf seems to suggest it should be allowed, even if you are adding to the TIC - with payments on the %age of generated electricity according to the original TIC only.
No sorry I didn't get to the bottom of it but its one of those jobs I need to get around to again. So much for MCS accredited installers too as I've since found out one of my panels has never being connected (11 years) as it was fitted the wrong way around so cables don't reach. Company no longer in business and the short of it is MCS offers you no protection if your installer was rubbish and no longer in business.
