I have just submitted my readings for August. The patterns of energy use in my home have not changed one iota since the month of August. I have a screen print of my 'usage' for this month. It has almost TRIPLED. from £47 in July to £140 for August. I am on the same tariff. Please could somebody at least try to convince me that this is accurate? I am becoming tired of the distrust I feel towards energy providers.
You’ve put ‘usage’ in inverted commas then quoted monetary values. It looks like you submit readings monthly but if not then you need to be sure there are no estimated readings and that the current readings on your bill match what is on your meters.
Aside from that, if you are on a variable tariff like Next Flex it could be your direct debit has increased in anticipation of the price cap rise in October.
