As you are on E7 already I'd be wary of doing anything that might risk losing it.
As to Eon Next, more like unwilling than unable I suspect. For most customers Eon next are foisting these things on us with something approaching bully tactics. But perhaps they don't want to fit a smart E7 meter because they're wanting to phase the tariff out altogether in the near future. Try OVO or Scottish Power. Others may do them but switching suppliers is being made more difficult at the moment.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I had an E7 smart meter fitted a few months ago by eon-next, there were no problems then. I think that @meldrewreborn is correct in his assessment of eon-nexts' reluctance to supply a meter.
Also, be very careful when changing tariffs as one fixed tariff I have been offered closed the gap between the Day and Night rates alarmingly, and it wasn't by reducing the Day rate.
Thanks for the response, everyone.
@Beki_EONNext I've been back and forth over the phone a few times and even had engineers out. I have neighbours in the same building with EDF and Octopus that have got smart meters fitted so I don't understand why E.ON are not capable of this.
You'd think that with everything going on with energy prices, E.ON would do the right thing and help customers manage their energy usage by allowing the install of a smart meter but here we are.
I guess I'll just have to ride this out and switch provider when that's an option.
@Annonpa
It's not that we won't change the meter for you, it's a we can't at the moment but we are hoping for a full roll out in the very near future. 🤞
@Annonpa
Hello.
I have been trying to get an Economy 7 meter fitted for MONTHS!
I have just been asked yet again to give 4 dates 30 working days ahead for one to be fitted.
Because of our unusual housing situation, this is costing me literally hundreds of pounds every single month.
What is the likelihood of fitting a meter for E7 please?
Richard.
