Hi - has anyone else had a renewal quote of £4215.82, up from £1049.41 ? Seems to be way above and beyond the ballpark figure of £3554 advised by Martin Lewis and other financial folk. The same tariff (Next Online V19) is cited as £3830 on Martin Lewis' website. Is it going up almost daily ?!
The cost of v19 on the Martin Lewis site is based on typical usage. The whole article needs to be read completely and carefully. There is a calculator later in that article that you can use to get a recommendation as to whether the deal you are being offered is worth considering.
Please remember that it is the unit cost of energy and daily charges that matter as all our usages are different. It’s worth checking if the projected usage on your quote is in line with your own experience and calculations.
Good luck on securing a deal in these difficult times.

Reason: Grammar and clarity
I've just looked at the online eon next tariff-search with my postcode to get an idea.
Next 1 Year v21 Direct Debit version is... 84.06p/kWh and 37.92/day for Elect and 20.59p/kWh and 27.22p/day for Gas. It's a bit more for Payment on Receipt of Bills version.
Next Online v19 Direct Debit version is... 61.3p/kWh for Elect and 15.09p/kWh for gas with same daily charge as above.
@RuthP Hi, I have been waiting on whether or not to fix on v19 having missed v18 by not signing up in time. On the Martin Lewis website there is a calculator where you can enter the variable rate offered and the v19 rates. After todays news about predicted rises I have been advised from this calculator that fixing on v19 was strongly recommended. It was just worth considering yesterday. So as there is no penalty for early exit I have gone for the fix. I'm not saying you should but the variable will rise over the next year and you may want to use the Martin Lewis calculator to advise what is best for you.
@RuthP I've been offered the Next 1 Year v21 tariff which is just obscene £6,983.03 for the year up from £1582.47. Si I'd take it if I were you. If you don't want it could I take it? :)
According to the Martin Lewis website v19 is available to all existing Eon Next customers so if you are currently with Eon Next it would be worth contacting them and enquiring.
It means little to publish the annual amount of any quotation, as those are particular to you and few others as they depend on your consumption. Tell us the underlying prices and then some more sensible comment can be given.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I hadn't even considered that idea, but if I had then I would have viewed it as another reason to grab a fixed tariff... particularly one with no exit fees.
Perhaps you'd like to expand. All Cornwall are doing is looking at the methodology used by OFGEM, using available market information and releasing the result into the public domain, which allows customers to have a little insight into what is coming regards price cap levels. Quite how foes it push up the prices? Do you think international markets are shifted by this information?
