I have a fixed deal that ends on October 2nd. My renewal quote for v19 is £740 a month. But Next Flex is £360. It says this will start on October 2nd, but I'm not sure if this price is before the 82% price cap increase. Given they've told me this next flex price will start on October 3rd, it must be inclusive of the rise, right? Feels too good to be true. But even if I take next flex and it does increase by 82%, it'll still be cheaper than v19.
The v19 quote will have factored in the predicted price cap rises but the Next Flex will not have as the Oct price cap has not yet been announced. The Next Flex tariff is variable so will likely follow the price cap as it fluctuates every three months.
It's a very difficult decision as to whether to fix or not. If you search 'should I fix my energy' then look at the moneysaving expert article where v19 is mentioned then it may help you decide... but make sure you read the whole article carefully.
All I can say is the obvious, if you go for the V19 you will know that your tariff will not increase for 12 months. Next Flex is likely to come very close but will it go higher than V19?
I'm afraid you have to make your own mind up, there isn't any information out there that clearly sets one option above the other.
Can you please quote the prices (both standing charges and unit prices ) for the fix. Then we have some real information to work from.
