I have noticed that the meter reading was increasing even though I was using a Tesla battery and not drawing anything from the grid. I thought it might be a Tesla problem but they were aware of the problem and advised me that energy companies were removing the L & G 470.
all well and good but I have emailed eon but, of course, no response yet.
So I am paying for electricity that I am not using and I am wondering if this has been going on since the meter was first installed. Has anyone else found this, it is hard to see without shutting everything down.
How do you know that you weren't drawing anything from the grid?
I don't know much about the subject myself but isn't there a maximum kWh you can pull from the batteries/inverter?
Hi,
There is indeed a maximum kWh, it’s about 7kWh, but when total load is 0.4kWh and the solar is producing 2.4kWh then it’s unusual for the grid to be supplying anything.
when I take it off grid the meter is still clocking up.
What do you mean when you say "take it off grid", can you be certain that you have totally isolated any feed out and in after the meter?
Forgive me if I'm asking the blindingly obvious here but have you tried powering everything off in the house, including isolating the solar and battery? Do it for 10 minutes and watch the meter reading, it should remain static if everything is off.
Have you tried asking on solar/Tesla powerwall forums? I would think that this might be a common question.
I think my first post answers your questions.
I posted on here to let others with this meter be aware of the problem as I thought this was a forum for sharing this information.
