The meter is showing the amount we used but does not appear to have linked with account as I there are no readings on my account and I have not been billed for the month.

For some reason, the gas is showing '99999'. The reading we took from our old gas meter five days before the Eon engineer came was '7855'...
I was under the impression that E.ON took my readings automatically! What's the problem here and what do I need to do to fix this?
I believe that when gas smart meters are fitted they start at 99999 so don't be worried about that. You'll be billed up to 7855 on your old meter and from 99999 onwards on your new meter.
It can take up to 6 to 8 weeks for the smart meters to fully register so I would give it a few more weeks for readings to appear on your account, if they don't report back.
