Solar generation not displayed on IHD
-
@PeterT_EONNext Thanks, shame it takes so long to get these things sorted; let's hope the guy that comes knows what he is supposed to be doing

well the appointment date in September came and went with nothing heard from Eonnext or anyone from the Smart Metering team. The IHD still doesn’t correctly display when the Solar is feeding electricity into the grid, and on the app there is no usage data, and the high and low day fields are blank
i really think there is an EONNext issue. I have downloaded the BRIGHT app and it’s showing half hourly data, so the comms from the smart meter up to the cloud are working
so come on Eon, sort this out!

Six months on and still the IHD and smart meter are not working properly. Nobody answers the phone, appointments missed. What the heck is going on? I’m very disappointed with the lack of service from Eonnext

@neilmorgan you need to separate the two things - the ihd which is neither here or there, and the smart meter itself which should measure consumption And report detail to the supplier. In the former matter you are in your own, in the latter make a complaint if your smart meter isn’t working as advertised, and take the matter to the k ombudsman if no satisfactory answer is gjvenCurrent Eon Next and EDF customer, ex Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Not sure that the IHD not working is trivial. It’s supposed to be the information that allows consumers to save money, and it’s part of the feature set “advertised” as a smart meter benefit. Mine has never worked properly
I am absolutely convinced all the problems are interlinked in a set up issue, but Eonnext aren’t interested so long as I keep paying the bills. I will always do that, so it appears I am “on my own” with it all.

@neilmorgan
Once an IHD is 12 months old the suppliers wash their hands of them. The PR and the reality are poles apart.
to me these displays focus allow users to identify their daily consumption but do little to identify the appliances consuming the most and thus worthy of attention. Using one of the apps will do that as well if the actual meters are sending their data as specified.
I used a 3 pin through meter to identify that my freezer as a guzzler knocking 2 kWh per day from my consumption. So that’s 730 kWh per annum, or about £250 at current discounted prices, more from April. An ihd would’ve shown the level of consumption but not the exact appliance. And I don’t have a smart meter at all. Lots of ways to tackle issues.
