Prior to my switch to Eon I was with Avro for both electric and gas and they went out of business just a few days after my switch to Eon. However I had only switched my gas supply to Eon. I was then transferred to Octopus for electricity as all previous Avro customers were.
So my question is, in this instance, who is responsible for the credit that I had on my Avro account? Is it entirely Octopus or is it split between Eon and Octopus? Octopus have finally after 9 months, given me the final Avro bill which shows both gas and electricity but are they responsible for all the credit, even though they only supply my electricity?
I do hope someone can give me a straight answer so I know which company I need to chase up to get the credit returned.
Thank you very much in advance for any advice you may have.
@Glor
its Octopus that is responsible for reimbursing you for both fuels as you balances we both with Avro when it went belly up. Good luck in your efforts to get the refund. The money will not hurt Octopus as these costs are spread over all consumers in time.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn Thank you for your reply. My feeling was that this would be the case but wanted some confirmation in case Octopus try and pass responsibility. The final Avro bill they have presented me with is wrong (in their favour) anyway so wanted to check my facts before chasing them up on it. Your response is very much appreciated.
@meldrewreborn Yes and no. They went bust just after my gas switch so I didn't get anything at the time. Only just recently I received a final dual fuel bill from them via my Octopus account.
