Hi all

my smart meter tariff seems to be incorrect on my IHD.
I’ve messaged eon through Facebook and they have pointed me here, as the turn it off and on again didn’t work. Has anyone got any advice?

I'm really sad that they sent you here when this was an easy fix from your account and so I have passed this on the team as feedback and popped a complaint down.
I have also sent a tariff update to your device and meter. The tariff change will be scheduled to change at midnight tonight. 😊

If it doesn't change over automatically you may need to reset your device.

- Unplug the device from the mains, and switch it off. There could be a small on/off button on the device, press and hold this until it is off. If there is no power button, you will need to drain the battery and then recharge.
- Take the device near to your electricity meter, as close as possible.
- Switch the device back on (hold the on/off button down) the device should come back on and resync.

Will you let me know what happens?

The tariff data needs to be sent down. It's a bit rich customer services passing the buck to the forum. What say you @Beki_EONNext - although it's a compliment in a way.

I have the same issue. They also fobbed me off and said if the reset doesn't work I should buy a new IHD off ebay as they don't supply them.

The tariff data needs to be updated by Eon Next. The in Home Display gets its data from the comms hub attached to the electricity meter, which in turn gets its data from the meters. The meters get their tariff data via the DCC from Eon Next. The gas meter also gets its data this way, although in your home there is a wireless connection between the comms hub and the meter, which has a long life battery for powering is circuits.

If the tariff is wrong on the display, then it may be safe to assume that the In Home Display is getting data from the comms hub and therefore the meter, but if the data on the meter is wrong then there is your issue. So buying a new IHD will not solve the issue even if it works - see the sticky posted by @theunknowntech on why second hand displays can't be paired to a different meter.

You can i think check the tariff data on the meter itself, but there are so many different types of meter that I can't tell you how to find it.

@Beki_EONNext Same problem, my Home display has not updated to my new tariff in June and the bill for this month shows at around
half the actual bill charged by Eon.next. The Home display monitor was supplied by NPOWER just before the take over and was fine
until my fixed deal ended in May. I have had a new deal since June but my display still shows the tariffs from my previous plan.
I have emailed Eon.next to ask them to send me a replacement for the NPOWER home display. No problem with my bill but the
NPOWER Home display monitor is not fit for purpose!

It will update after midnight so tomorrow morning it should be showing your new tariff information.

If it does not update, please follow these steps to reset your IHD:
- Unplug the device from the mains, and switch it off (there is a small on/off button on the device, press and hold this until it is off).
- Take the device near to your electricity meter, as close as possible.
- Switch the device back on (hold the on/off button down) the device should come back on and resync.
