fix rate deals are not very common at present. I worked out that V!3 of Eon Next's latest fixed rate assumes a 74% increase in the flex (price Capped )rate from October. So its not exactly an easy choice to go for.
Faced with that choice I'd stick with the variable rate flex tariff for now. We cannot predict how world events may impact energy pricing between now and october, nor can we predict whether fixed rates will make a comeback.
