All sorted on this one - just popping by to say we absolutely do not charge £230 to get a smart meter installed! And the person who thought this now knows not to tell any other customers this wrong bit of info.
We are currently prioritising those with no smart meters at all, but will absolutely be out to exchange any second meters to smart as soon as we can.
I have just registered on this forum to tell you I have also been advised by email that my smart meter installation is chargable.
I registered to have smart meters installed on the website there was no mention of charges, this appointment got cancelled by email a reason was not provided, yet it's still showing on your system as active and someone from CS now tells me it's chargable, despite your website saying it's free?

I'm so sorry you were also given the wrong information, I've just had a read of the email conversation and can see why you're frustrated!
Looks like we've got things sorted but I'll make sure the person you were talking to, and their teams are clear that we would never charge to fit a smart meter.

well I booked another day off work and no one showed as despite assurances that should there be any problems I would be notified.. The appointment wasn't booked!
I made a complaint I've heard nothing.
I raised an exec complaint I've heard nothing.
I guess it will be the ombudsman next.
