Whats the secret to getting a refund of my money!!!! My current account for my duel file supply will be £196.77 in credit by the end of next week.
My current contract ends on the 31/03/2022 and i have renewed my contract at a much higer price however, i have emailed 4 times even to the CEO requesting a refund of £100 of the over payment back into my bank account but i have still not had any response to my emails and no refund into my bank.
I have also tried to contact by phone however this again has been unsuccessful and have been left hanging on the phone listining to the mind numbing music for over 30 minutes at a time until i hang up. !!!!
The web site claims it will respond to emails “ Within Hours” my first email requesting the refund was on the 2/03/2022 and the 4th one on 12/03/2022 with still no response or refund.
Has any one had the same annoying problem ?
Both my self and my wife are pensioners so my money that they are holding onto is important to us has any one any ideas how best to progress this
Please remember that most people use more energy in the winter than the summer. So, when a direct debit is set in the summer period, bills will be lower than the 12 month average and thus a credit will build up. This would then be reduced in the winter period as the higher bills come in and the account might even go into debit. Then as spring arrives average bills go down and the account is likely to be near enough in balance (but forecasts are almost guaranteed to differ from actual consumption. Starting a direct debit in winter is the best time - think about it.
also bear in mind that unless you are on a fixed deal, prices, even after the government's latest intervention, will now be double what they were last winter, and so direct debits will need to be higher than previously.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I remember when my son was in his first house and struggling a bit for money. He realised his energy account was in credit in the lead up to Christmas and requested a full refund of it. He was astounded, and miffed, when his DD was immediately hiked to compensate.
When he told me about it I could only ask him what did he expect.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Eventually managed to speak to someone on 26 September asking them to refund £200 (£440 in credit). They took a current meter reading for both electric & gas and promised to refund the £200. No refund and account is now £510 in credit! Tried phoning twice.....that's over an hour I will never get back, emails...no response....Whatsapp....no response!!!!
I'm on a fixed contract until next September, so reducing DD appears the only way to go.
What a shambles.
You don't say what your DD is per month. But you are able to invoke the DD guarantee through your bank and instantly reverse a DD improperly taken (well they haven't sent you £200). It gives you back a degree of control, especially when they've not done what they promised. Also make a complaint - see the blue bit lower down.
