Smart gas meter reading

I haven't had a smart reading taken since being moved to EON Next which was last October. Prior to this every month without fail it was read by EON.

@Bennie_EONNext thank you, I read the whole thread today and saw that people were getting advice in this thread which is why I replied as it appears I'm not alone. Is it not possible to get advice/support here given like others have? I've submitted a manual reading like you suggested but the odd thing is how long my gas meter hasn't provided a reading, and that my account seems to say online I only have an electricity tariff. I've not had the smart meters even a year.

I press the right hand grey button for a few seconds, it displays various data but nothing that resembles a meter reading there is a 4 digit number shown but this counts backwards -

I totally understand where you are coming from. Yes, in that specific thread people got supported although it is not what this community is all about.
We are here to give advice and to open conversation with you and share constructive feedback and experiences. There is so much information around the energy industry that I am sure not even I don't know it all, but we want to give an opportunity to everyone to understand and gain knowledge about these topics.

I hope in your understanding of this matter.
About your online account it might say only electricity tariff as you may have a different account number for your gas which might not have been linked. This could be a possibility and a very quick fix.
The energy specialist team can also check for you if you have a faulty meter or not and what we can do next for you.
It is important to speak to them because they can shape the solutions based on the individual's needs. This is also one of the reasons why we have actual people behind a screen and not a robotic answer machine.

Here is a link to a scottish power video. apparently you press the right hand button for 1-2 seconds and hey presto.

To get a reading from these smart meters:
- Press the right button. This might be labelled 'OK'
- The display should wake up and you'll see a row of digits followed by m3
- Ignore any digits after a decimal point if you have one. We only require the whole numbers
