I'm currently on the Next Flex rate, but I'd like to know what the current fixed rate tariffs are. When I try to do that online I get a screen that asks me if the home address displayed is correct (it is...) and a big red button that reads RENEW. I only want to renew if the fixed rate is acceptable, so I'm concerned that if I click on the RENEW button it will automatically switch me to a fixed rate tariff....
I pressed the renew button (hesitantly),but it then gave the options i have.
My query is that i selected a tariff, but then it shows slightly higher per month until December 2022, then it will be the price it states, this is not quite clear.
While in normal times going for a fix undercuts the price capped tariffs, that isn't the case now. We've got a considerable price hike in April already scheduled for the price cap and another of unknown size in October. OFGEM are also considering changing the price cap every 3 months rather than 6 months.
So its very unclear at the moment whether fixing is good for us or nor. But i would always recommend looking at the prices being quoted rather than DD amounts.
the price capped data from april 2022 is here. Sorry its complicated - you have to work out the rates for your area your self - OFGEM don't make it easy for us.
Thank you so much for pointing out re the RENEW button. I popped the question over to the tech team today to see if they can make this clearer - perhaps with something like 'view renewal options' and they are currently working on it 🙌 Thank you for your feedback! It's the only way we get better 😊
