@retrotecchie
Wow! Thank you for the knwledgable feedback. If only E.ONnext could do that! Good point about the post, I hadnt realised that was the preferred route of contact.
The three phase is feeding my modest hobby workshop and New EV point and because the existing single phase supply needed moving anyway with a complete rewire im having done the extra cost wasnt as prohibitive as I thought, even though they are bringing it to the house under the main road.
Thanks for the info once again. Maybe they will turn up with a smart meter on the day.
Fingers crossed all goes well for you. I'm contemplating three phase myself purely because they are unable to update my 80A single phase supply as it stands and they would need to change the pole transformer anyway to give me more herbs. Just use a single phase pro tem until the 50kW wind turbine goes in later this year, hopefully🤞
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie Ahh Thank you for the knowledge :) Hope your contemplated three phase comes to fruition. The connection here I've been told will be 54kva which I believe is ample for a domestic set up.
@DebF_EONNext Thanks for the reminder, but unfortunately it still says "Oh no! We don’t have any slots available in your area" when I login to my account and click through to book a meter upgrade.
The one time that it did show availability I wasn't ready to choose a date and time and when I returned to try again there were no more slots available.
Any suggestions?
Also are the 3-phase smart meters now net sum compliant, handling generation and consumption correctly across the three phases?
Coincidentally (or maybe not) I received another email asking me to book an appointment, but when I clicked through it gave me the usual "Oh no..." message.
The email tells me that my gas meter will be changed at the same time, but it's through two internal brick walls, a 60cm external stone wall and over 10metres away from the electric meter so I'm not sure if it will communicate over that distance. Also the gas meter is outside which a meter installer told me isn't a suitable location for smart meters.
