Multiple problems here, some smart meter communications related and others online account related. Can we presume that you will get customer service to contact @BLD rather than the other way around?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Hi Deb, yes both the IHD and online account are showing unit rates higher than the EPG level. Our meter also hasn't been sending readings automatically since about April time. I've been trying to get in touch with your energy specialist team via email and Twitter but nothing has happened.
I am sorry it is taking a bit longer than usual for our energy specialists to get back to you, we are much much busier than usual and our energy specialists are working hard to get back to customers as quickly as possible. I have tried to access your account however I can't locate it with the details associated with your username. If you have sent a message through Twitter someone will get back to you 😊

@DebF_EONNext thanks, do you know when that might be as I messaged on the 22nd September? Or I can share my details via private message here if easier/quicker?

This customer's meter stopped sending readings in April. Does the company have any automated systems to detect when reading do not come through as scheduled and to put in train the work necessary to bring them back on line? Perhaps your energy specialists should concentrate on getting existing meters fully functional rather rolling out more meters.

Generally what would happen @meldrewreborn when a meter stops sending readings our system would automatically generate estimates (unless of course a customer sends us a manual reading) if we haven't had an actual reading from a customer for several months our system will generate communication asking for readings. We aren't alerted to individual accounts that have lost communications and this only comes to light if a customer lets us know there have been issues and it's then that we will investigate this for the customer. I am aware that this isn't ideal, however we would hope that a customer would see a discrepancy (estimated reading) on their bill and contact us.
@BLD I will pop you a private message 😊
Western Power Distribution are now National Grid, just for info. Not sure when they changed, but it was very recent.
I wouldn't beef at those prices, the electricity SC is about 16p a day higher than my nextflex tariff, but the unit price is much cheaper. On my average of about 10kWh a day, that would save me about 55p per day, compared to my deal. That's about £15 a month or £180 a year!
Your rate fix is entirely beneficial to you compared to current flexible rates and you should think things through several times before switching to anything else.

The horrendous standing charges though, and I barely use any gas.
Sums wise, I can't work out if I'm better off staying with the fix or not.
