It’s worth pointing out that the figures you have quoted from moneysavingexpert are ‘’the latest mutterings’’ and have not been announced officially.
I only mention it in case some don’t follow your link and rush to cancel their recently acquired fixed tariff, only to find that the actual announcement is somewhat different to the mutterings.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Good point; thanks for that word of caution. The official statement is later today; then I think Eon and Ofgem should update their webpages😉
This will cause quite a lot of confusion as the policy has been compiled very quickly without necessarily considering all of the ramifications. The devil is in the detail - a bit like after a budget!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Perfection in politics just a question of striving for perfection; so lets wait and see how our new constitutional monarchy does, in time. In the meantime here is Eon Next's update blog
With the increase in traffic the Community has seen in recent days @Beki_EONNext, wouldn't it be better if the Blog and some of it's contents were linked on the Community Homepage?
@Andy65 It's a difficult one for us, as we try not to link externally and keep the content on the Community.
In all the recent price cap posts that we have on the Community, we always link to the live blog for the most recent information, as well as updating the sticky posts 😊
I recently renewed my tariff to a v20 fixed, which is / was due to start 01/10/22
I renewed late August prior to the latest price cap announcement, although our current contract doesn't end until the end of September.
My statement page says that my new Electric tariff will be 67.66 p/kwh and Gas 16.96 p/kwh.
Which means my monthly bill will increase 5 - 6 times!!! Surely this is wrong?
The new tariffs should be approx. 34 p/kwh for Electric and 10.30 p/kwh?
Is anyone seeing anything like this?
Haven't Eon updated their tariffs yet?
If not when is this going to happen?
Why isn't any of this being communicated to their customers?
Apparently they will be taking over 300 pounds from our account next month, so we obviously getting quite stressed about this.
I think you're correct in that eon-next have yet to confirm the revised tariffs, I don't know if the exact details of this price cap have been fully ironed out yet.
Also, The £400 will still be paid so your first payment in October will be reduced by £67 or £66 and this won't have been included in your payment plan of £300+.
If you want to move to the Next Flex variable tariff then you'll need to contact Customer Services.
We fixed with the V19 rate that's due to start on the 2nd October. On our account page, it's also still showing as the old V19 rates. I've tried getting in touch with eon to see what they are going to do as I don't know if I should move to the variable rate or not.
From what it says on https://www.eonnext.com/electricity-...rice-guarantee under the 'Fixed Tariff Customers' part, it reads as though that they'll bring our unit prices down to be in line with the EPG. However, given we've not heard anything about this properly in writing on our account, I'm still skeptical!
"For the small number of customers who fixed at a high rate exceeding the October Ofgem price cap of £3,549 (£3,674 paying on receipt of bill), they will receive the full discount of 16.998p for electricity and 4.2p for gas. To make sure that those customers also benefit from the EPG we will bring their fixed price down to be in line with the government's £2,500 average threshold."
They seem to have recognised what they have to do. To avoid customer services being even more stretched than they already are they are ensuring the EPG rates are delivered to all customers. Thats good. Personally, I would take a copy of the promise (I use ctrl +print screen and paste it into a word document, which I then save) for future reference.
