We have been trying to convert our prepayment meter to a credit meter for a LONG time. We keep getting different excuses each time we contact eon.
The most recent one was that eon was unable to do credit checks? I find it strange that such a large company is unable to do such a simple thing.
To put this into context, we are surviving on the basic state pension and have health issues. We have never been in debt, own our home and the house came with this meter 35 years ago... At the moment we are paying at least £80 a week and we are really struggling in our rural home.
Can I just add that I spoke with an e-on next representative this lunchtime regarding changing from a pre-payment meter to direct debit - she told me that your company are not allowed to carry out a credit check !! I think some further clarification on this is required please
The quickest way to get help here is by using Twitter or Facebook to send private message to Eon Next customer service team. Alternatively try a follow up private message to Beki here, I know she will help you when she gets the time!
Come back and report back here to the forum to let us know how you got on😉
@jessjesseee Hey there, Beki here 👋
I'm sorry to hear your situation and I'd love to help. We are able to do credit checks but they were on hold whilst we have been migrating customers initially from NPower and now with Igloo etc.
We assess prepayment > credit meters on an individual basis, especially if there is outstanding debt on the meter. We can have a chat and put the case forward to the powers that be, and include your PSR and health status on there. Would you like to pop me a message privately with your account number, name on the account and address and I can have a look into this for you. 😊
