We have lived in the same property for 5 years with gas/elec always being with eon.

Our life style, number of people, number of electrical devices has not changed, we have always paid va dd, have giving meter readings twice a year, but your system has failed to workout correct dd to pay each month and now tells us we owe £523.80 and need to pay an extra £100 a month?

    Hiya

That doesn't sound quite right, especially if you've been giving us meter readings. Is the latest bill based on these readings or estimated? If they're estimated this could be the problem, and the system that works out Direct Debit payments will have automatically looked at increasing them.

The quickest way to get this sorted is to send us a direct message on Facebook or Twitter, as our digi team are available 7 days a week to help. If the bill was based on estimates it's worth having some up to date readings handy.

You can also reply to the email we sent about increasing your Direct Debit to ask for this to be looked at.

    Thanks

I send meter readings once every month, it`s no inconvenience, that way you can stay right on top o your payments.

If you don't like giving regular meter readings, then get a smart meter fitted assuming your home is compatible.
Other than that I'm afraid the advice given by UKDave51 above applies; so at least you are free to choose which option will rectify this issue.
Until then, happy new year to you and the people who you live with😀
