Is the meter itself dead or is just the in house display. From what you say i think its the former. You could stop paying - that would get their attention.
But perhaps @PeterT_EONNext might be able to advise how to get a real person to address the issue.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn @PeterT_EONNext Yes the meter has only shown the time for 120 days now and I have been paying estimates ever since, a reader came out and confirmed it was broken but Eon wont do anything about fixing it, numerous emails etc have been ignored.
The display doesnt show anything either.
Thank you for trying to help, whenever I try to contact customer service this is the kind of reply I get :
"I have looked into your account and I can confirm that you currently have the old SMETS 1 smart meters for both your gas and electricity and these type of smart meters tend to lose their functionality and often no longer works in a "smart way" when switching energy providers.
To ensure that your account is always up to date and healthy, I would advise you to provide us with meter readings every month to ensure that you are being billed accurately based on the actual meter readings that you provide us with. This will also avoid you from slipping into any debt on your account.
We are working on establishing connection with your meters and are looking to complete the project by the end of 2025."
This makes no sense I dont even have my gas with eon!
They dont seem to understand I cant send meter readings as I dont have any despite me telling them over and over again, do they expect me to just pay estimates until the end of 2025??
I am 70 years of age and not good with social media I dont have Twitter or Facebook, what else can I do? I am at my wits end
