This is my first time paying my own electricity but I am unsure about my meter readings.
Due to covid I havent been in the property as much and so have been unable to take consistent readings (especially between dec-may)
Below are the readings I have photos of.
26687 - 4th December 2020
21008 - 11th May 2021
21564 - 20th July 2021
28127 20th Sept 2021
28305 12th Oct 2021 (latest reading taken)
I've tried emailing support but the person I spoke to doesn't seem to be very helpful, I was wondering if someone could tell me if these look like normal meter readings or if there seems to be a problem with my meter.
OK, but you never answered my question❔
I suggest you take close up (macro) photographs of future readings using a flash or torch for good lighting and you can provide hard evidence that your meter is as you claim malfunctioning, and then if not already a member, join Twitter and as one of their friendly customer service assistants using Private Message function😉
Why not consider a smart meter, which does away with manually submitting readings?
@rdbp In the readings of 11 May 2021 and 20 July 2021 you misread the number '7' and substituted it for the number '1' causing inaccuracies.
Who did you try to contact and where?
@Landmark I don't think I did misread it - looking at the photos they definitely look like 1s. Also I've just noticed (looking back at my readings) that on the 12th of April I had a meter reading taken at 24183, which doesnt make sense either
The full list is now:
26687 - 4th December 2020
24183 - 12th April 2021
21008 - 11th May 2021
21564 - 20th July 2021
28127 20th Sept 2021
28305 12th Oct 2021 (latest reading taken)
So even if I did misread it its strange that it would increase by 3000 in a month (after decreasing 2500 since december)
@rdbp Hey there 👋 Beki here. I wondered if you could add some pictures of those readings for me please as they don't seem to be inline, then the Community and I can put our Sherlock hats on.
Sending positive energy to you,
