Hi I have solar panels on my roof which were installed via our housing association. I have been in the property since 2015 and have never seen a reduction in the cost of electric used. Before Npower switched to Eon next, I discussed with NPower the problem on a number of occasions and they said that they weren’t aware that we had solar panels which was a lie as we had contacted them a few times. After promising to sort them out it is only recently that the solar panels were found to be faulty. I have lost out all this time from benefiting from the solar panels and I don’t think it is fair who can I make a complaint too?
You would complain to the housing association as they will be receiving the feed in tariff payment of KW generated. Actually if the panels are not working then they would have been wondering why there was no payment received for generated power.
It works by you getting the benefit of generated power and the association receiving feed in tariff payments.
@Vikkim Have you spoken to or written to your Housing Association about it? The cost and maintenance of Solar Panels may be included in your service charge so check your Tenancy contract and Service cost breakdown for this.
