Currently in the process of switching from British Gas over to E.ON Next (switchover: 28/09/21). I have a previously installed smart meter (2 years ago) however, have had no information on when to expect my E.ON display unit. Would anyone be able to advise me on this?

Best Answer@CrazyBirdMad We don't send new In Home Displays out as your current one should work as long as you have a new SMART meter (SMETS2) it can take up to 42 days for ti to connect though. If you have any questions on your meter type, you can head to Facebook (@eonnext) or Twitter (@eon_next) and the fabulous Digi Ops team will be able to help you from 8am - 10pm every day of the week.

I have SMETS2 meters and when I switched to Eon Next a couple of months ago I just kept the IHD that was supplied by my old supplier. The electricity usage registered on the IHD straight away but the gas took 6 weeks from the switchover date. I did send an email and make a phone call to Eon Next about the gas reading four or five weeks after switchover and asked that the issue be passed to the appropriate department so this may have hastened things along.

So basically if with EON smart meters are a waste of time as you have to read the meters. Due to no ihd.
I was with EON with a ihd then went to British gas no ihd either but think that was due to lockdowns. But now with EON next.
Read everywhere on there site get smart meter but why lol
